The BCMA Awards 2023 have recognized the extraordinary ‘Frames from Andalucía’ initiative developed by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sport in Spain. This groundbreaking project, which has been nominated in four categories, enlisted the talent of ten internationally renowned photographers to showcase the beauty and potential of Andalucía through stunning visual content.

Scheduled for February 28th, the BCMA Spain awards have acknowledged ‘Frames from Andalucía’ in the categories of Best Branded Content Strategy, Best Original Idea, Best Branded Content Audiovisual, and Best Branded Content Editorial.

This captivating marketing and content creation endeavor, executed by Casanova Agency, aimed to capture the cultural, ethnographic, and architectural richness of Andalucía through the artistic vision of globally respected professionals. With a focus on modern techniques and a contemporary approach, the initiative sought to elevate the region’s tourism brand by engaging diverse and connected audiences through the online channels of the participating artists.

These photographers, boasting a combined following of over four million on Instagram, have visually narrated their experiences and perceptions of Andalucía through striking images and audiovisual pieces, showcasing the creative process and the landscapes explored. The resulting content will serve as the foundation for future promotional campaigns and will also be featured in a photographic book and a documentary.

The project featured the talents of French photographer Alex Strohl, as well as Americans Jason Kummerfeldt, Mitchell Kanashkevich, Nick Carver, and Taylor Pendleton; Canadian photographer Lizzie Peirce; British photographers Luke Stackpoole, Mike Chudley, and Thomas Heaton; and German photographer Robin Schimko.

The photographers tailored their journeys through Andalucía to their unique visual styles, capturing the diverse attractions of the region, including its natural landscapes, cultural heritage, and architectural wonders.

By aligning with the strategic objectives of the Ministry, this initiative aims to diversify the visitor demographics and increase the overall tourism spending in the region by attracting longer and more immersive stays from a wider range of travelers. The ‘Frames from Andalucía’ project stands as a testament to the innovative and impactful approach to promoting and celebrating the beauty and allure of Andalucía.
