Suncruise Andalucía, association for the promotion of cruise tourism in the Spanish region of Andalucía, has appointed Esther Molina Crespo as new manager, with the aim of coordinating the joint work of Andalusian ports to promote this activity at a national and international level.

The analysis of the needs of the industry to improve the facilities and the service provided to companies, attending professional events, the proposal of new itineraries to promote Andalusian ports and destinations, as well as the promotion of recreational sailing, are the main actions that will be carried out during the next years, thus enabling inter-port collaboration to be strengthened and the Suncruise Andalucía-Andalucía Cruises brand to become better known.

Esther Molina takes on the challenge «with enthusiasm» and, more specifically, «as an interesting opportunity to work with the seven Andalusian ports in a context in which the contribution of cruise tourism to the tourism industry is of utmost importance for the economic development of the region”.

Esther Molina Crespo has extensive experience in managing business associations, such as Málaga Chamber of Commerce, the Regional Consumer Body (Órgano Regional de Consumo), or the Association of Professional and Business Women of Málaga (AMUPEMA), among others.

Previously, she was also General Director of Business Promotion and Employment at Málaga City Council, where she contributed to the revitalization of local producers and the development of ‘Málaga Cruise Shop’ project, to boost purchases among cruise passengers arriving at the Port of Málaga.

Cruise tourism in Andalusia

Andalucía has become one of the main strategic areas for cruise tourism nationwide. Last year, a total of 994,170 cruise passengers aboard 779 cruise ships visited Andalusian ports, representing an increase of 3.1% and 3.7%, respectively, compared to the previous year. These figures reveal a historical record in the number of calls. sdsemi
